Where to go in Marrakech

As members of our group still kept arriving, today the ones already there took off on different ventures:
two set off to do some camel riding, David and I decided to start with a visit to the Jardin Majorelle – a lovely place acquired by Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé and brought to new life with many bzw plants.

Right there is also the Berber Museum, which introduced und to traditional skills, jewels and finery – very interesting! And since we were close, we also visited the museum where many of YSL’s créations are displayed.

Next stop was the Jardin Secret – at least, that was our plan… On our way we did have some detours in the Medina but finally arrived. It is one of the largest and most ancient riads of the Medina in Marrakech with structures if cultural value regarding the art of gardens, architecture and Arab hydraulics.

A visit to the museum of Marrakech ended our touristic enterprises for today.

Back at our Riad, we finally met Jude, Tania, Sam and John. The eight of us had dinner near the Jemaa el Fna – one of the exciting major places in town.
