Marrakech day 2

After a tasty breakfast we were picked up by Zohair, a very knowledgable guide, who showed us around the city for half a day: Jemaa el Fna, past the minaret and the Koutoubia mosque and on to the tombs of the Saadian princes.

In between, Zohair told us a lot about Morrocan History and social studies on the Morrocans.

After a much welcomed coffee break we strolled to thé Palace of Bahia and enjoyed the cedar ceilings, coloured windows and colourful tiles. Without our guide we would have been lost!

On our way back we walked across the Medina, impressed by all that was offered, the multitude of languages and colours, the noise and the narrowness.

A bit tired, we decided to go for lunch in the new part of town close to thé jardin majorelle.
Back at our lovely Riad, we just relaxed until it was time for dinner.

That was when we received the message that we had to be out of this part of the town by 7:20 in the morning because of a marathon…
